Since
1998, our club organizers have coordinated teams of young runners in
training for and traveling to State, Regional, and National cross
country competitions in their schools' post-season. Every year, from
October to mid-December, runners from all over central Indiana come
together as one team, forming life-long friendships and fostering
principles of sportsmanship and team camaraderie.
Nike offers their Nike Cross Nationals team and individual competition
with very tough qualification races and all-expense-paid trips to
Portland, Oregon for the top high school teams in each of eight
regions. It is a very big accomplishment for our teams to qualify and
earn the trip west.
USA Track & Field offers their Junior Olympics program each
fall
with a three-level tournament. Competitors are divided by two-year
age-groups in the following format:
Sub-Bantam
(born 2003+); 2000 meters
Bantam
(born
2001 -
2002); 3000 meters
Midget
(born
1999 –
2000); 3000 meters
Youth
(born
1997 –
1998); 4000 meters
Intermediate
(born
1995 – 1996); 5000 meters
Young
(born
1993 –
1994); 5000 meters

Coaches Matt
and Kelly Wire and Mark Ellington coached their Carmel High School
Girls Cross
Country team to their 2nd consecutive IHSAA State Championship!
Congratulations to these three and their team!
Matt, Kelly, and
Mark also brought two high school girls teams to the Nike Cross Country
Midwest Regionals. The first team WON, while the second team, competing
in the Open race, had a perfect team score of 15 points! The second
team consists of seven of our Intermediate and Young Girls teams. The
first team earned an all-expense-paid trip to Portland, Oregon for the
National Finals on Saturday, December 3rd. They'll be travelling in
jackets with our Indiana All Star Running Club logo, as our club
sponsors the team. Visit the NXN Midwest Regionals site for results and photos.
And watch the NXN Championship race live on December 3rd at: Nikecrossnationals.com.

include Renee Wellman, Kelsey Harris, Kelcy Welch, Gina Genco, Sarah
Bennett, Allie Jacobsen, and Haley Harris. Way to go girls! Indiana All
Star Running Club is so proud of your efforts! Full results can be seen

Safety Issue!
Parents, please DO NOT drop off and pick up your runners from the
trail! Please enter the parking lot and let them exit/enter your car
there. The high school police officers will ticket you if they witness
unsafe drop-off and pick-up practices and
they may decide to not allow our club to practice at the high school if
our families cause safety issues!
USATF
Indiana hosts a state-level day of races in early November. Qualifiers
are generally the top four finishing teams in each age group as well as
the top 40 individuals in each race. Race day schedules and course maps
